Day 122 (Sat, 5th August 2006): The Philharmonic Chamber Choir held two concerts in memory of mummy at Singapore's Esplanade Theatre by the bay, on the 4th and 5th of August 2006. Both nights of the concert were sold-out. She had been a member of the alto section for more than ten years. Many of mummy's best friends and relatives were there to support this wonderful gesture. Everyone agreed that it was a superlative performance that would have made mummy proud. It was a memorable night in more ways than one. Papa says that it brought back many vivid memories of mummy standing on stage singing her heart out. He could almost imagine her there that night, standing among the alto section, hair coiffed and with her red lipstick and cheeky smile. The songs chosen for the program were thoughtful and touching. There were pieces by Brahms, Schumann, Elgar and Britten among them. Mummy would have enjoyed singing them too. Papa had to suppress many more memories during the night. This is how he has learned to control his emotions. He has become better at distracting his mind. I hope that it doesn't make his heart too hardened or cold with time.
Mummy dearest, papa knows you were with them on that concert night. Sing him a lullabye to sleep tonight. Love you.

"I'm nothing special, in fact Im a bit of a bore
If I tell a joke, you've probably heard it before
But I have a talent, a wonderful thing
cause everyone listens when I start to sing
I'm so grateful and proud
All I want is to sing it out loud

So I say
Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing
Thanks for all the joy they're bringing
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty
What would life be?
Without a song or a dance what are we?
So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me

Mother says I was a dancer before I could walk
She says I began to sing long before I could talk
And I've often wondered, how did it all start?
Who found out that nothing can capture a heart
Like a melody can?
Well, whoever it was, Im a fan

So I say
Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing
Thanks for all the joy they're bringing
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty
What would life be?
Without a song or a dance what are we?
So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me

I've been so lucky, I am the girl with golden hair
I wanna sing it out to everybody
What a joy, what a life, what a chance!

So I say
Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing
Thanks for all the joy they're bringing
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty
What would life be?
Without a song or a dance what are we?
So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me"
-Abba, Thank you for the music.
